Lambros Santamouris started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Michalis Tzekos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea's supporters rose to their feet, but Michalis Tzekos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kostas Pavlakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prokopis Zachalios kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, A.E. KANALIWN's Thodoris Vamvakeris threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lambros Santamouris, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vaggelis Limnios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kostas Pavlakos came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Chelsea's Michalis Tzekos. But to his dismay, Michalis Tzekos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Kostas Pavlakos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michalis Tzekos's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Lambros Santamouris struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Thodoris Vamvakeris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.E. KANALIWN. Lambros Santamouris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Thodoris Vamvakeris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Nikos Sardelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A.E. KANALIWN's Kostas Pavlakos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaggelis Limnios in the 31st minute of play. Lambros Santamouris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lambros Santamouris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thodoris Vamvakeris having to interfere. Thodoris Vamvakeris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lambros Santamouris went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Leonidas Chatziantoniou hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. If Michalis Tzekos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vaggelis Limnios to make the kick off. A hard shot 54 in the game by Michalis Tzekos from a close distance when the talented Kostas Pavlakos managed to make a qualified save. A.E. KANALIWN's players were relieved. Chelsea's Thodoris Vamvakeris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Perdikouris in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charilaos Katsidimas during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, A.E. KANALIWN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charilaos Katsidimas to maneuver through the defense. Michalis Tzekos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lambros Santamouris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Thodoris Vamvakeris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Chelsea's goal looked a bit too open when Kostas Perdikouris came free, but Thodoris Vamvakeris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chelsea walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
