Pipis Stamatelatos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stratos Atmatzidis kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Evaggelos Makaronas managed to get in a good position for a shot. PAOK FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaggelos Makaronas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Achilleas Tzakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emmanouil Loukoumis hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When New Olympiacos FC's Pipis Stamatelatos in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simos Chronoulis in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Achilleas Tzakos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos in the 34th minute of play forced PAOK FC's goalkeeper Fokas Papatsakalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pipis Stamatelatos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Fokas Papatsakalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th match minute, New Olympiacos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilias Veniamin to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in New Olympiacos FC's zone, Simos Chronoulis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Achilleas Tzakos came out of the goal and Simos Chronoulis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simos Chronoulis to make the kick off. Achilleas Tzakos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evaggelos Makaronas went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 59 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Stamatelatos came free, but Fokas Papatsakalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Kostas Soukis got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Pipis Stamatelatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fokas Papatsakalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simos Chronoulis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Achilleas Tzakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of New Olympiacos FC booed when PAOK FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostas Soukis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, PAOK FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pipis Stamatelatos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Panos Sakaridis hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. PAOK FC's Kyriakos Loulakis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for New Olympiacos FC. 93 minutes into the game, Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fokas Papatsakalos. Dimosthenis Zotalopoulos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Fokas Papatsakalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pipis Stamatelatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
