In the 3rd minute Simos Chronoulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonidas Sakoulidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Evaggelos Makaronas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Kyriakos Loulakis got a free kick in the 12th minute. PAOK FC's Simos Chronoulis got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. PAOK FC's Fokas Papatsakalos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save PAOK FC from getting a goal against them. Apostolos Kouvarakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fokas Papatsakalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Stefanos Tsirigakis could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Fokas Papatsakalos however easily saved by the left post. When Kostas Soukis fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PAOK FC's protests and gave Kostas Soukis a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Kostas Soukis got a free kick in the 44th minute. Kostas Soukis hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Kámpos's Lazaros Orfaniotis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for PAOK FC. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giorgos Poursanidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Giorgos Poursanidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in PAOK FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Kámpos. In the 66th minute, Simos Chronoulis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Kámpos's Giorgos Poursanidis in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Kámpos's zone, Simos Chronoulis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonidas Sakoulidis came out of the goal and Simos Chronoulis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the match, Kámpos's goalkeeper Leonidas Sakoulidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaggelos Makaronas. Evaggelos Makaronas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Leonidas Sakoulidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simos Chronoulis in the 99th minute of play forced Kámpos's goalkeeper Leonidas Sakoulidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of PAOK FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. PAOK FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Kámpos were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
