The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giorgos Kesanopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simos Chronoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Simos Chronoulis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lambros Kalikis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fokas Papatsakalos having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Evaggelos Papanagiotou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elimbos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fokas Papatsakalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaggelos Papanagiotou, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Lambros Kalikis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elimbos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lambros Kalikis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elimbos FC. 43 minutes into the match, Elimbos FC's Evaggelos Papanagiotou sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fokas Papatsakalos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loukas Vezirgiannis in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fokas Papatsakalos saved PAOK FC from getting behind. After the first half Elimbos FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simos Chronoulis was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Evaggelos Makaronas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Giorgos Kesanopoulos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 56th minute, Evaggelos Makaronas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanasis Samios hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Elimbos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
