Minas Kakavos made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Zisis Malliaros sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the match, Panionios FC's goalkeeper Minas Kakavos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zisis Malliaros. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christos Karagiannopoulos in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valerios Koubaroulis saved Yellow Blackers from getting behind. Christos Karagiannopoulos struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Valerios Koubaroulis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panionios FC. Minas Kakavos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Chatzoulis in the 25th minute of the match. Christos Karagiannopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valerios Koubaroulis having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Panionios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stratos Tsatsoulis to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimitris Tsardikos got free with Minas Kakavos in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Themis Karkantos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Minas Kakavos came out and tried to block the shot, but Themis Karkantos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 34th minute. Theagenis Paragas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valerios Koubaroulis having to interfere. When Panionios FC's Christos Karagiannopoulos in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 46 minutes, Giorgos Varvouzanis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panionios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giorgos Varvouzanis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Dimitris Tsardikos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giannis Persias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yellow Blackers's Valerios Koubaroulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theagenis Paragas in the 60th minute of play. Valerios Koubaroulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christos Karagiannopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giorgos Varvouzanis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christos Karagiannopoulos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valerios Koubaroulis having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Christos Karagiannopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panionios FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christos Karagiannopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valerios Koubaroulis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute Zisis Malliaros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Minas Kakavos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giannis Persias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valerios Koubaroulis having to make a save. In the 78th minute, Christos Karagiannopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panionios FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 83 minutes of play, Yellow Blackers's Zisis Malliaros made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Minas Kakavos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Valerios Koubaroulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christos Karagiannopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, Yellow Blackers could leave the field as winners, despite Panionios FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
