Christos Kapetanopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonis Skevofilakas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. If Marios Prekkas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Alexandros Kafritzakis made a precise shot to the right of Christos Kapetanopoulos. bye bye's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A hard, long distance shot from Sakis Kallimanis flew over the goal. In the 21st minute, Ziräddin Bahadov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christos Kapetanopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonis Skevofilakas in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marios Prekkas in the 29th minute of play forced Athletic Athens 2007 FC's goalkeeper Iwan Januszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Marios Prekkas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iwan Januszewski. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandros Kafritzakis in the 34th minute of play forced bye bye's goalkeeper Christos Kapetanopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47thth minute of the game Marios Prekkas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Athletic Athens 2007 FC's Iwan Januszewski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Athletic Athens 2007 FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marios Prekkas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Athletic Athens 2007 FC's Iwan Januszewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lazaros Chrisochoidis in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, bye bye's Fragiskos Tsakiropoulos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iwan Januszewski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Christos Kapetanopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panagiotis Nalbantis in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, bye bye's Theofilos Velidakis got a free kick in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ziräddin Bahadov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athletic Athens 2007 FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ziräddin Bahadov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christos Kapetanopoulos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Athletic Athens 2007 FC booed when bye bye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Iatridis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute Panagiotis Nalbantis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christos Kapetanopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the bye bye defense, Alexandros Kafritzakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christos Kapetanopoulos. The bye bye fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christos Kapetanopoulos should have stopped the shot. Christos Kapetanopoulos came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletic Athens 2007 FC's Takis Kaminaridis. But to his dismay, Takis Kaminaridis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. In the 93rd minute Panagiotis Nalbantis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christos Kapetanopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fivos Koskotas came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the bye bye fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fivos Koskotas couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Athletic Athens 2007 FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
