In the 31stth minute of the game Panagiotis Nalbantis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Καθηγητής's Panos Tsoutsikas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dimos Peppas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Januszewski having to interfere. When Dimos Peppas came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Καθηγητής fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dimos Peppas couldn't finish the play. Athletic Athens 2007 FC's Panagiotis Nalbantis got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Καθηγητής's Dimos Peppas got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 78 minutes of play, Athletic Athens 2007 FC's Panagiotis Nalbantis made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Panos Tsoutsikas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Christodoulos Kolevas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Καθηγητής's goal looked a bit too open when Panagiotis Nalbantis came free, but Panos Tsoutsikas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Καθηγητής's Panos Tsoutsikas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Kafritzakis in the 89th minute of play. Καθηγητής's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
