After 8 minutes, Prodromos Karalexopoulos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PANATHINAIKOS and the Pigasos fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes PANATHINAIKOS got a freekick which was hit by Prodromos Karalexopoulos. In the 12th minute, Ntinos Giannakopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Panos Chelis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a little luck, Pigasos fc's Panos Chelis got control of the ball when Ntinos Giannakopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Marios Tzanetis fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PANATHINAIKOS's protests and gave Marios Tzanetis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th match minute, PANATHINAIKOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marios Tzanetis to maneuver through the defense. Renos Zikos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Panos Chelis made a huge save. In the 26th minute Apostolos Tsirkos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ken Troxler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ken Troxler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attilio De Sanctis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Miltos Kaliakoudis came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Pigasos fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miltos Kaliakoudis couldn't finish the play. Akis Seftelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ken Troxler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ken Troxler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Lawrence, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miltos Kaliakoudis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ken Troxler having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Theocharis Kottikas was the one to do the kick off. Apostolos Tsirkos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Ken Troxler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Attilio De Sanctis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ken Troxler, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miltos Kaliakoudis in the 62nd minute of play forced PANATHINAIKOS's goalkeeper Ken Troxler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Miltos Kaliakoudis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ken Troxler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Apostolos Tsirkos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ken Troxler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 played minutes PANATHINAIKOS got a freekick which was hit by Ignatios Tsatsos. Marios Tzanetis kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Attilio De Sanctis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The PANATHINAIKOS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pigasos fc were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
