The referee showed Renos Fotakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Aris Fc Kavala getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Stravogiannos in the 43rd minute of play forced Aris Fc Kavala's goalkeeper Giannis Tsirimokos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nea Smirni's Miltos Ziogas got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miltos Ziogas made a kick off. Miltos Ziogas scored 1-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giannis Tsirimokos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Avraam Konstantinidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giannis Tsirimokos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Stravogiannos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Nea Smirni were the better team. Nea Smirni's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
