The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charilaos Serametakis during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nea Smirni's Efthimis Samiamidis was substituted for Menelaos Siradakis. After 12 played minutes Nikhσrion BC got a freekick which was hit by Charilaos Serametakis. Miltos Ziogas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Giorgos Stravogiannos came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Nea Smirni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giorgos Stravogiannos couldn't finish the play. Valerios Abaris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miltos Ziogas went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Nea Smirni's zone, Kostas Dellas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christos Chatzidakis came out of the goal and Kostas Dellas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Nea Smirni getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Vaggelis Fragos hit a great ball. Miltos Ziogas scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valerios Abaris, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Nea Smirni's Christos Chatzidakis got control of the ball when Tasos Farmakopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giorgos Stravogiannos in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valerios Abaris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valerios Abaris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgos Stravogiannos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kostas Dellas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christos Chatzidakis having to interfere. Valerios Abaris was left in no man's land by his defense there!
