The Nikhσrion BC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stratos Moraitopoulos should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute, Stamatis Serelis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nikhσrion BC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Antonis Mitsibonas took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stratos Moraitopoulos. Stratos Moraitopoulos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Stamatis Serelis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Michalis Karamaounas. That made the score 2-3 in the 21 minute of play. Leonidas Romanos's late challenge caught a Riverpool's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonidas Romanos helped the player get up and apologised. Leonidas Romanos kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Antonis Mitsibonas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riverpool's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonis Mitsibonas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stratos Moraitopoulos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28thth minute of the game Antonis Mitsibonas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nikhσrion BC's Stratos Moraitopoulos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stratos Moraitopoulos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonis Mitsibonas's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Erdoğan Kantara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stratos Moraitopoulos having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Stamatis Serelis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michalis Karamaounas. Riverpool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stamatis Serelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Riverpool's attentive Simos Someritis managed to snatch the ball when Kleanthis Ntouvaris made a throw-in in the 40th minute of the game. Stratos Moraitopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simos Someritis, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 41st minute, Simos Someritis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Riverpool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonis Mitsibonas in the 46th minute of play forced Nikhσrion BC's goalkeeper Stratos Moraitopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stratos Moraitopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telis Theodoridis in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 4-4 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stamatis Serelis to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Antonis Mitsibonas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stratos Moraitopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stratos Moraitopoulos had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Antonis Mitsibonas from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Antonis Mitsibonas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Stratos Moraitopoulos made a huge save. In the 80th minute, Telis Theodoridis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Nikhσrion BC's goal looked a bit too open when Antonis Mitsibonas came free, but Stratos Moraitopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonis Mitsibonas got free with Stratos Moraitopoulos in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telis Theodoridis in the 87th minute of play forced Nikhσrion BC's goalkeeper Stratos Moraitopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aggelos Periadis hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antonis Mitsibonas in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stratos Moraitopoulos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Riverpool were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
