Themistoklis Pourtoulidis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Themos Kalevras. ARDRA FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. ARDRA FC's Themos Kalevras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonis Mitsibonas in the 10th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as ARDRA FC's Fernandão de Brito slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Michalis Karamaounas. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. In the 19th minute Antonis Mitsibonas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themos Kalevras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, ARDRA FC's Emanuel Rey got a free kick in the 24th minute. The audience was convinced that Antonis Mitsibonas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Themos Kalevras was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Aggelos Periadis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riverpool's supporters rose to their feet, but Aggelos Periadis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Riverpool's Themistoklis Pourtoulidis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Themos Kalevras in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind ARDRA FC's goalkeeper Themos Kalevras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonis Mitsibonas in the 38th minute of play forced ARDRA FC's goalkeeper Themos Kalevras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michalis Karamaounas made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Michalis Anagnostakis sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the game, Nikitas Panagakis threw the ball into play from the sideline. ARDRA FC's Fernandão de Brito quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michalis Anagnostakis made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Michalis Anagnostakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michalis Karamaounas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Paulinho Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michalis Karamaounas having to interfere. The supporters of ARDRA FC booed when Riverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simos Someritis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonis Mitsibonas struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Themos Kalevras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riverpool. After a rather tough play, Riverpool's Dimosthenis Nikakis got a free kick in the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonis Mitsibonas got free with Themos Kalevras in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aggelos Periadis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Themos Kalevras came out and tried to block the shot, but Aggelos Periadis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 70th minute. In the 77th match minute, ARDRA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandão de Brito to maneuver through the defense. Michalis Anagnostakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michalis Karamaounas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michalis Anagnostakis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute Paulinho Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michalis Karamaounas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ARDRA FC's Themos Kalevras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save ARDRA FC from getting a goal against them. If Antonis Mitsibonas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Riverpool's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
