With a little luck, Dynamo's Efthimis Panagakoglou got control of the ball when Aimilios Kostenoglou tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Efthimis Panagakoglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimos Zagorakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The Dynamo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efthimis Panagakoglou should have stopped the shot. Giorgos Kafkalas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. OLDHAM ATHLETIC made a substitution. Ignatios Vakrinos replaced Charilaos Bogris. 81 minutes into the match, Giorgos Kafkalas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Efthimis Panagakoglou. Dynamo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giorgos Kafkalas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dimos Zagorakis in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Efthimis Panagakoglou saved Dynamo from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Kafkalas in the 85th minute of play forced Dynamo's goalkeeper Efthimis Panagakoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manos Psaltis kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the game, Pipis Zigouropoulos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alekos Lithopoulos. Pipis Zigouropoulos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-2. OLDHAM ATHLETIC's Alekos Lithopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Zigouropoulos in the 95th minute of play.
