Spectators: 7984 (Terracing: 5989, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Panagiotis Skrekis kicked off to start the match. Fanis Kalofolias came out of the goal and Akis Koukoulekis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignatios Meletis in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fanis Kalofolias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Akis Koukoulekis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th minute, Theocharis Balodimos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fanis Kalofolias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignatios Meletis in the 21st minute of play. Fanis Kalofolias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Akis Koukoulekis, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Khersovon BC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Demis Tassakos was slow to take the kick. During this time RIO FC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Anastasios Mamais managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 28 minutes into the match, Akis Koukoulekis notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Khersovon BC's Fanis Kalofolias. Fanis Kalofolias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31st minute, Ignatios Meletis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Akis Koukoulekis to make the kick off. Ignatios Meletis took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fanis Kalofolias. When Akis Koukoulekis came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the RIO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Akis Koukoulekis couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Khersovon BC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Vassilis Koutroutsos hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Akis Koukoulekis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fanis Kalofolias, passed just outside the right post. Fanis Kalofolias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akis Koukoulekis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fanis Kalofolias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akis Koukoulekis in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Khersovon BC's goalkeeper Fanis Kalofolias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ignatios Meletis. In the 97th minute of the match, Sokratis Tsagarakis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fanis Kalofolias saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. RIO FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
