Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Chelsea F.C's Sotiris Kyrimlis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stavros Tsiantakis in the 4th minute of play forced Panathinaikos's goalkeeper Dionysis Boulas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Sotiris Kyrimlis notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Panathinaikos's Dionysis Boulas. Dionysis Boulas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 8th match minute, Panathinaikos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Argyris Kalianiotis to maneuver through the defense. Dionysis Boulas came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Chelsea F.C's Savas Chaniotakis. But to his dismay, Savas Chaniotakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 12 played minutes Panathinaikos got a freekick which was hit by Christos Kolonelos. Savas Chaniotakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionysis Boulas having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Chelsea F.C's Savas Chaniotakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dionysis Boulas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dionysis Boulas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Savas Chaniotakis in the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Savas Chaniotakis in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dionysis Boulas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the game, Chelsea F.C's Savas Chaniotakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dionysis Boulas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Dionysis Boulas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Kyrimlis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Chelsea F.C booed when Panathinaikos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charilaos Kritikopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Christos Kolonelos's late challenge caught a Chelsea F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christos Kolonelos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Christos Kolonelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 60th play minutes Savas Chaniotakis shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Dionysis Boulas and just under the crossbar into goal. 64 minutes into the match, Panathinaikos's goalkeeper Dionysis Boulas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sotiris Kyrimlis. Christos Kolonelos hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. The supporters of Chelsea F.C booed when Panathinaikos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christos Kolonelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sotiris Kyrimlis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dionysis Boulas having to make a save. Dionysis Boulas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stathis Pontikakis in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Chelsea F.C booed when Panathinaikos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achilleas Nikolaou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stathis Pontikakis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dionysis Boulas came out and tried to block the shot, but Stathis Pontikakis slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 75th minute. After 79 minutes, Christos Kechagias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea F.C and the Panathinaikos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th minute, Christos Kechagias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 81 minutes, Thomas Valkanas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panathinaikos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Valkanas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Chelsea F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Charilaos Kritikopoulos came free, but Theodosis Mitras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Efthimis Saravalakos charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efthimis Saravalakos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute, Thomas Valkanas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Theodosis Mitras was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-8. After 92 played minutes Panathinaikos got a freekick which was hit by Christos Kolonelos. Theodosis Mitras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charilaos Kritikopoulos in the 96th minute of play. Theodosis Mitras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas Valkanas's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. When the final whistle sounded Chelsea F.C left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Panathinaikos.
