An unexpectedly hard shot by Ntinos Kalifoulis in the 22nd minute of play forced Thrylos FC's goalkeeper Leonidas Kladas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Thrylos FC got a freekick which was hit by Konstantinos Kalabokis. In the 31st minute, Sokratis Koukodimos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonidas Kladas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ntinos Kalifoulis ran back to his position shaking his head. Leonidas Kladas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sokratis Koukodimos in the 40th minute of the match. Leonidas Kladas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ntinos Kalifoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute Sokratis Koukodimos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonidas Kladas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sokratis Koukodimos made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sokratis Koukodimos in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonidas Kladas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 79 minutes, Ntinos Kalifoulis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panathinaikos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ntinos Kalifoulis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 played minutes Panathinaikos got a freekick which was hit by Alekos Sapounidis. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Sokratis Koukodimos took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Leonidas Kladas to make any attempt to save it. Makis Soufleris's late challenge caught a Thrylos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
