But to his dismay, Charis Sakalakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 9 minutes into the match, Π.Α.Ο.Κ's goal looked a bit too open when Ilias Vidalis came free, but Apostolis Kartsolis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes, Ilias Vidalis made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Π.Α.Ο.Κ's Apostolis Kartsolis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Π.Α.Ο.Κ's Apostolis Kartsolis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omiros Simos in the 18th minute of play. Apostolis Kartsolis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giannis Dimitropoulos in the 20th minute of play. After 34 minutes of play, Atletico de Madrid's Ilias Vidalis made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apostolis Kartsolis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Apostolis Kartsolis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charis Sakalakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Apostolis Kartsolis came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico de Madrid's Charis Sakalakis. The audience was convinced that Ilias Vidalis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Apostolis Kartsolis was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Theofilos Serpanos's late challenge caught a Atletico de Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theofilos Serpanos helped the player get up and apologised. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-10 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vaggelis Antoniou made a kick off. With his leg Apostolis Kartsolis managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Atletico de Madrid's Ilias Vidalis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Π.Α.Ο.Κ's Kyriakos Tsiolis got a free kick in the 54th minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Giannis Dimitropoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico de Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giannis Dimitropoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Ilias Vidalis took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Apostolis Kartsolis to make any attempt to save it. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 0-13 when Ilias Vidalis sped through Π.Α.Ο.Κ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Apostolis Kartsolis. Apostolis Kartsolis didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Atletico de Madrid's Ilias Vidalis shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-14 in the ordered_time% minute.
