After 19 played minutes Byzantium F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Akis Dellas. Byzantium F.C.'s Tilemachos Tokas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christos Vrinas in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ's goal looked a bit too open when Evripidis Martinelos came free, but Iordanis Mavros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Thodoris Kostetsos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute of the match, Marinos Kostetsos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Iordanis Mavros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Thodoris Kostetsos came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thodoris Kostetsos couldn't finish the play. Tilemachos Tokas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koulis Leventis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Byzantium F.C. defense, Thodoris Kostetsos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tilemachos Tokas. The Byzantium F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tilemachos Tokas should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Thodoris Kostetsos sped through Byzantium F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tilemachos Tokas. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kleon Kouzoulidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tilemachos Tokas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Thodoris Kostetsos came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thodoris Kostetsos couldn't finish the play. When the match was over ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Byzantium F.C. throughout the match.
