Gerasimos Venoukas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Sakis Velakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th play minute Gerasimos Venoukas came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sakis Velakos. 1-0. PANATHINAIKOS FC's Evaggelos Mirtsos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Kalantidis in the 24th minute of play. Evaggelos Mirtsos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Kalantidis in the 25th minute of play. Vassilis Semos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerasimos Venoukas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakis Velakos having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as PANATHINAIKOS FC's Gerasimos Venoukas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sakis Velakos. That made the score 2-0 after 35 minutes of play. If Gerasimos Venoukas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dikefalos getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Kostas Kalantidis hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Gerasimos Venoukas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kostas Kalantidis in the 47th minute of play forced PANATHINAIKOS FC's goalkeeper Evaggelos Mirtsos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoforos Papardelas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Dikefalos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoforos Papardelas to maneuver through the defense. Ilias Tsirigotakis hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 59 played minutes PANATHINAIKOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Thanasis Pararas. 66 minutes into the game, PANATHINAIKOS FC's Gerasimos Venoukas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sakis Velakos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Sakis Velakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marinos Kastanias in the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the game, Dimitris Nikolopoulos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dikefalos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PANATHINAIKOS FC the free kick. In the 71st minute Gerasimos Venoukas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Velakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, PANATHINAIKOS FC's Gerasimos Venoukas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sakis Velakos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vassilis Semos scored 7-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sakis Velakos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Dikefalos booed when PANATHINAIKOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thanos Karoulias didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 92 in the game by Christoforos Papardelas from a close distance when the talented Evaggelos Mirtsos managed to make a qualified save. PANATHINAIKOS FC's players were relieved. There was no doubt that PANATHINAIKOS FC were the better team. PANATHINAIKOS FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
