Themis Papadopetrakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 35th match minute, VARDA F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tord Gustavsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Luisão Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omiros Ntounos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VARDA F.C.'s Themis Papadopetrakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamantios Akrivos in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Adamantios Akrivos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thanasis Vouzakis to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Thanasis Malioufas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Thanasis Vouzakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's supporters rose to their feet, but Thanasis Vouzakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Themis Papadopetrakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Omiros Ntounos made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Luisão Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. Farid Delecroix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Themis Papadopetrakis having to make a save. After 78 minutes, Stavros Antzas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ and the VARDA F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VARDA F.C. booed when ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stavros Antzas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind VARDA F.C.'s goalkeeper Themis Papadopetrakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Adamantios Akrivos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Themis Papadopetrakis was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Farid Delecroix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Farid Delecroix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Themis Papadopetrakis was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
