With a little luck, YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas got control of the ball when Chatziioannou Karathanos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vaggelis Lalas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ntinos Papanagiotou in the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of YELLOW FC booed when Aiolikos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stathis Kontis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vaggelis Lalas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chatziioannou Karathanos in the 15th minute of play. Michalis Koukos kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Chatziioannou Karathanos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Vaggelis Lalas made a huge save. Petros Kiakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomáš Řehák, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aiolikos FC's Petros Kiakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avraam Sevastopoulos in the 28th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Aiolikos FC's Chatziioannou Karathanos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vaggelis Lalas. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. Jan-Olof Kämpe might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petros Kiakis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Olof Kämpe ran back to his position shaking his head. When Akakios Evaggelliadis fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aiolikos FC's protests and gave Akakios Evaggelliadis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Akakios Evaggelliadis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Aiolikos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Avraam Sevastopoulos came free, but Petros Kiakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Aiolikos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomáš Řehák was slow to take the kick. During this time YELLOW FC's players had a chance to rest. After 38 played minutes YELLOW FC got a freekick which was hit by Thanasis Robos. Ntinos Papanagiotou hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Aiolikos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Avraam Sevastopoulos came free, but Petros Kiakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Chatziioannou Karathanos made a precise shot to the right of Vaggelis Lalas. YELLOW FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Avraam Sevastopoulos made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Olof Kämpe in the 53rd minute of play forced Aiolikos FC's goalkeeper Petros Kiakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, YELLOW FC's Thanasis Robos got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Ntinos Papanagiotou notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas. Vaggelis Lalas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Petros Kiakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Olof Kämpe in the 76th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Avraam Sevastopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petros Kiakis was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Vaggelis Lalas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stathis Kontis, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Aiolikos FC's Petros Kiakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanasis Robos in the 82nd minute of play. YELLOW FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chatziioannou Karathanos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Aiolikos FC had won after a very even match.
