Sheriff's Notis Filippas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but José Sá in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. José Sá made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Damaso Xacintu sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Sheriff's zone, Walter Giardino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yahia van der Saar came out of the goal and Walter Giardino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Clayton Gol took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for José Sá to make any attempt to save it. Benjamin Mikolas made a great header on tHe SOnS of rAGnar's corner, it was just that Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar managed to reach the ball for a save. Telis Ntasios replaced Benjamin Mikolas. The supporters of tHe SOnS of rAGnar booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Dominguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Telis Ntasios received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Yahia van der Saar came out and tried to block the shot, but Telis Ntasios slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 59th minute. José Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Giardino in the 72nd minute of play. But to his dismay, Clayton Gol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. José Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clayton Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sheriff were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of tHe SOnS of rAGnar for a fine match.
