The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anselmi Hana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikko Rimpiläinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. The Peijari fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaakoppi Nikander should have stopped the shot. Esko Henriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jaakoppi Nikander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Esko Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikko Rimpiläinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Bastö's Anselmi Hana got control of the ball when Marko Marttila tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Mikko Rimpiläinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aadolf Kesä stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaakoppi Nikander was a little too slow when Esko Henriksson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Anselmi Hana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikko Rimpiläinen in the 61st minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Peijari's goal looked a bit too open when Aadolf Kesä came free, but Jaakoppi Nikander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Esko Henriksson came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Bastö fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esko Henriksson couldn't finish the play. Esko Henriksson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mikko Rimpiläinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmi Hana having to interfere. Jaakoppi Nikander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aadolf Kesä, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Vilppu Rosendahl took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anselmi Hana. Bastö's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Peijari booed when Bastö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arto Paukkunen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bastö had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
