Konstantin Voutilainen charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Konstantin Voutilainen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Holmas booed when University of Cambridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantin Voutilainen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Into Saarela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ossi Palonen went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Kyösti Sauso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kyösti Sauso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Uuno Kuoppala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Into Saarela made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Reko Rajamäki sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of University of Cambridge booed when Holmas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veli-Matti Marttila didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kyösti Sauso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henri Lahti hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Manu Viitala fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holmas's protests and gave Manu Viitala a yellow card for diving instead. The goalkeeper, Into Saarela, was totally fooled by University of Cambridge's Kimi Pakaslahti, who 49 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Veli-Matti Kaski to strike the kick off in the second half. Into Saarela came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by University of Cambridge's Reko Rajamäki. But to his dismay, Reko Rajamäki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 59 played minutes University of Cambridge got a freekick which was hit by Konstantin Voutilainen. Holmas's Manu Viitala shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 60th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Uuno Kuoppala but with some difficulty. Holmas's Into Saarela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ossi Palonen in the 62nd minute of play. Kimi Pakaslahti kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 71st minute of the match Kimi Pakaslahti sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Into Saarela skillfully saved the ball. Uuno Kuoppala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veli-Matti Kaski, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. If Kyösti Sauso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ossi Palonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ossi Palonen struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Into Saarela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for University of Cambridge. A collision led to Holmas getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Isto Grönvall hit a great ball. Henri Lahti hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Veli-Matti Kaski hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Ossi Palonen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Into Saarela having to make a save. The University of Cambridge support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
