Spectators: 6910 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1760, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Panu Kopola started the match with the kick off. In the 5thth minute of the game Päiviö Jatkola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viipurin Palloseura's Fabiën Meyer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panu Kopola in the 7th minute of play forced Gyltö IFK's goalkeeper Torsti Sorsa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tero Ryynänen lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Gyltö IFK's Torsti Sorsa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Gyltö IFK from getting a goal against them. If Päiviö Jatkola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Päiviö Jatkola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiën Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Lalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torsti Sorsa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Päiviö Jatkola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gyltö IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Päiviö Jatkola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabiën Meyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnulfo Lalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Torsti Sorsa having to make a save. Arnulfo Lalla in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Torsti Sorsa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Torsti Sorsa stood somewhat misplaced when Arnulfo Lalla came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 38 minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Päiviö Jatkola made a kick off. In the 69th minute Panu Kopola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torsti Sorsa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manne Villanen struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Torsti Sorsa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viipurin Palloseura. Arnulfo Lalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Torsti Sorsa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panu Kopola, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Arnulfo Lalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsti Sorsa having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Gyltö IFK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Viipurin Palloseura:s goal. The referee gave Viipurin Palloseura a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Panu Kopola, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gyltö IFK's Torsti Sorsa. 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in Gyltö IFK's zone, Panu Kopola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torsti Sorsa came out of the goal and Panu Kopola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the match, Viipurin Palloseura's goalkeeper Fabiën Meyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Päiviö Jatkola. When Arnulfo Lalla came up free with the goalie in the 101st minute, the Viipurin Palloseura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Lalla couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Viipurin Palloseura were the better team. Viipurin Palloseura's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
