Eerikki Nikko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eerikki Tikka having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Tauno Lagerblom's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eerikki Tikka was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Mika Rantanen succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 19th playminute. After some careless play in the Niskala IFK defense, Eerikki Nikko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eerikki Tikka. The Niskala IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eerikki Tikka should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Niskala IFK's goalkeeper Eerikki Tikka, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Niskala IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Eerikki Nikko came free, but Eerikki Tikka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niskala IFK's Eerikki Tikka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tauno Lagerblom in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 played minutes Niskala IFK got a freekick which was hit by Mika Rantanen. 36 minutes into the match, Nyystölä's goalkeeper Sipi Leppiniemi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mika Rantanen. Eerikki Nikko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eerikki Tikka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Eerikki Tikka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tauno Lagerblom in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antti Elo in the 46th minute of play forced Nyystölä's goalkeeper Sipi Leppiniemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nyystölä's Sipi Leppiniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antti Elo in the 49th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Tauno Lagerblom made the kick off in the second half. Tauno Lagerblom showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Nyystölä's Lasse Toivanen got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes, Niskala IFK's Samuli Kemppainen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sipi Leppiniemi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Niskala IFK reached it. Eerikki Tikka was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Tauno Lagerblom capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tauno Lagerblom really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. When Tauno Lagerblom came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Nyystölä fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tauno Lagerblom couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eerikki Nikko got free with Eerikki Tikka in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, Niskala IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Tauno Lagerblom came free, but Eerikki Tikka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Niskala IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Tauno Lagerblom came free, but Eerikki Tikka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nyystölä's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
