Spectators: 6760 (Terracing: 5760, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tony Tuomainen kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the match, Kosar Académica's goal looked a bit too open when Pasi Teräs came free, but Miko Heliskoski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wiley Driscoll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orvo Kantola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miko Heliskoski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pasi Teräs, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Orvo Kantola put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Wiley Driscoll. Urpo Niinimäki kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Tony Tuomainen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orvo Kantola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wiley Driscoll read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Pasi Teräs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Miko Heliskoski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wiley Driscoll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orvo Kantola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Jamie Carragher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kosar Académica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jyvaskyla FC the free kick. The supporters of Jyvaskyla FC booed when Kosar Académica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Carragher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Tuomainen took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miko Heliskoski. Miko Heliskoski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Wiley Driscoll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuutti Kiviharju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Orvo Kantola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kosar Académica's supporters rose to their feet, but Orvo Kantola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wiley Driscoll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Tomi Aho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Pasi Teräs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Pasi Teräs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orvo Kantola made a kick off. Miko Heliskoski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Tuomainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Kosar Académica's Urpo Niinimäki got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Tony Tuomainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miko Heliskoski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Kosar Académica's goal looked a bit too open when Pasi Teräs came free, but Miko Heliskoski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wiley Driscoll made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orvo Kantola in the 73rd minute. With his leg Wiley Driscoll managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Kosar Académica's Orvo Kantola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomi Aho in the 89th minute of play forced Kosar Académica's goalkeeper Miko Heliskoski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miko Heliskoski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Tuomainen in the 90th minute of the match. Miko Heliskoski came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Jyvaskyla FC's Kerkko Hevonkorpi. But to his dismay, Kerkko Hevonkorpi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Miko Heliskoski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tony Tuomainen went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
