Saku Lumio kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pyörylä IFK's Tero Uhlbäck got a free kick in the 10th minute. Vilhelm Latvanen scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kaarlo Paananen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 20 minutes, Kyösti Koskenkorva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pyörylä IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyösti Koskenkorva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sampsa Karalahti fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pyörylä IFK's protests and gave Sampsa Karalahti a yellow card for diving instead. Kaarlo Paananen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kalevi Itäluoma in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Kalevi Itäluoma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But to his dismay, Vilhelm Latvanen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 40th match minute, Pyörylä IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikolai Hannula to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Saku Lumio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pyörylä IFK's Kaarlo Paananen didn't even have to move. Kaarlo Paananen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kalevi Itäluoma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Kalevi Itäluoma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaarlo Paananen. Pyörylä IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kalevi Itäluoma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After the first half FC Lynx were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Daniel Kärki kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Auvo Immonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. FC Lynx's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pyörylä IFK the free kick. Kalevi Itäluoma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Kaarlo Paananen made a huge save. If Auvo Immonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Kalevi Itäluoma put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Kaarlo Paananen. If Atso Pärssinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 90 minutes, Atso Pärssinen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kaarlo Paananen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. In the 98th minute of the match, Kalevi Itäluoma got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kaarlo Paananen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match was over FC Lynx could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pyörylä IFK throughout the match.
