In the 44th match minute, Oikari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jouko Luhtio to maneuver through the defense. Paavo Sairanen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henrik Seppo. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herkko Hati made a kick off. The Oikari fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Oikari's Arttu Lahtinen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ikälä's Jorma Paavola suffered a concussion in the 57th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Arttu Lahtinen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Aadolf Villanen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arttu Lahtinen in the 68th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Asko Koivuranta in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aadolf Villanen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. During the 84th minute of the match Yrjänä Snellman completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. After a defensive mix-up in Ikälä's zone, Asko Koivuranta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aadolf Villanen came out of the goal and Asko Koivuranta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ikälä's goalkeeper Aadolf Villanen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ikälä's Aadolf Villanen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asko Koivuranta in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Oikari had won after a very even match.
