Uljas Ruuttu charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uljas Ruuttu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pello getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Sulho Sainio hit a great ball. Sulho Sainio's late challenge caught a Karhala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sulho Sainio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th match minute, Pello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sulho Sainio to maneuver through the defense. Anton Naskali hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute Anton Naskali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isko Tuovinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Pello's goalkeeper Isko Tuovinen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pietari Hati. If Manu Sairanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isko Tuovinen made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Simo Pihlman sent off a good shot on target. When Manu Sairanen, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 30 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ale Nurminen was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Manu Sairanen notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Karhala's Ale Nurminen. Ale Nurminen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sulho Sainio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manu Sairanen to strike the kick off in the second half. Uljas Ruuttu was shown his second yellow card after 51 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Karhala getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Uljas Ruuttu hit a great ball. When Manu Sairanen in the 53rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Ale Nurminen kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Sulho Sainio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pello's supporters rose to their feet, but Sulho Sainio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ale Nurminen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Into Lehtinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ale Nurminen having to interfere. Tarmo Laulaja hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Uolevi Leinonen hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manu Sairanen in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ale Nurminen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Karhala's zone, Sulho Sainio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ale Nurminen came out of the goal and Sulho Sainio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pietari Hati fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isko Tuovinen having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Karhala got a freekick which was hit by Taito Kouhi. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pietari Hati during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Pietari Hati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Pello's Manu Sairanen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ale Nurminen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sulho Sainio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karhala's Ale Nurminen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manu Sairanen in the 92nd minute of play. Sulho Sainio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ale Nurminen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Manu Sairanen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pello's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
