The FC Gallia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Diamonds's Aapo Myllys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esko Pitkämäki in the 16th minute of play. In the 21st minute Sampo Raukko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kari Heikkinen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamonds's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernesti Puikkonen in the 22nd minute. The corner led to Diamonds's Aku Pärssinen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Herman Kultti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Esko Pitkämäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyösti Hedberg in the 37th minute of play forced Diamonds's goalkeeper Aapo Myllys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mikko Pasanen managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Gallia's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikko Pasanen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aapo Myllys breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

After having played for 68 minutes, Herman Kultti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Gallia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herman Kultti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sampo Raukko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kari Heikkinen having to interfere. Kari Heikkinen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sampo Raukko in the 75th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Esko Pitkämäki took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Aapo Myllys to make any attempt to save it. Esko Pitkämäki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aapo Myllys having to interfere. FC Gallia's Kari Heikkinen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolai Pietikäinen in the 90th minute of play. Kari Heikkinen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikolai Pietikäinen's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Kyösti Hedberg's late challenge caught a Diamonds's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyösti Hedberg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Gallia getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Kyösti Hedberg hit a great ball. In the 97th minute of the match Urho Itäluoma shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kari Heikkinen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. FC Gallia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
