In the 11th minute Benjamin Kauppila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Visa Pihkala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Benjamin Kauppila came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Niinivesi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Kauppila couldn't finish the play. The Niinivesi fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Niinivesi's Kaleva Vihko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 18th match minute, fc yliutos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmer Lindfors to maneuver through the defense. After 19 minutes, Aatto Pelttari mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Niinivesi and the fc yliutos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tuomo Kultanen was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Pauli Markkula capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pauli Markkula really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Aappo Kuivalainen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tuomo Kultanen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Kauppila in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Visa Pihkala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute, Benjamin Kauppila made a precise shot to the right of Visa Pihkala. fc yliutos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Aappo Kuivalainen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Tuomo Kultanen made a huge save. If Benjamin Kauppila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Benjamin Kauppila made the kick off in the second half. In the 71st minute, Benjamin Kauppila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kaleva Vihko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to fc yliutos getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Aleksi Selänne hit a great ball. After some careless play in the fc yliutos defense, Benjamin Kauppila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Visa Pihkala. The fc yliutos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Visa Pihkala should have stopped the shot. Benjamin Kauppila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benjamin Kauppila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fc yliutos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Niinivesi were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
