The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severi Keskinarkaus helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tanhua FC booed when Kärpät was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severi Keskinarkaus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tanhua FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Seppo Jatkola 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. With his leg Pirkka Lahti managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Kärpät's Vilppu Puumala fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 27 minutes, Vilppu Puumala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kärpät's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilppu Puumala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Tanhua FC's goal looked a bit too open when Seppo Jatkola came free, but Pirkka Lahti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Vilppu Puumala notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Tanhua FC's Pirkka Lahti. Seppo Jatkola didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Verneri Kamppuri dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tony Salonen, 2-2. Väinö Virtanen might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Salonen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Väinö Virtanen ran back to his position shaking his head. Tony Salonen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Verneri Kamppuri in the 97th minute.
