In the 3rd minute, Palojoensuu IFK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Silvo Kuuri fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Vilhola getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Mikko Reponen hit a great ball. With 11 minutes on the clock, Mauri Pettinen commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The crowd rose to their feet as Vilhola's Ernesti Pihlajamäki slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leif Tähtinen. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Leif Tähtinen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikodemus Nielikäinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Ernesti Pihlajamäki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leif Tähtinen, 2-0. Elmo Nyman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leif Tähtinen having to make a save. After 24 played minutes Palojoensuu IFK got a freekick which was hit by Eljas Viitaluoma. Ernesti Pihlajamäki struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Leif Tähtinen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilhola. In the 29th match minute, Palojoensuu IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuutti Kaitainen to maneuver through the defense. Nikodemus Nielikäinen struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Leif Tähtinen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilhola. Leif Tähtinen was a little too slow when Ernesti Pihlajamäki got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 3-0. 36 minutes into the match, Palojoensuu IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Silvo Kuuri came free, but Leif Tähtinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mikko Reponen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Leif Tähtinen made a huge save. Ernesti Pihlajamäki received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leif Tähtinen came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernesti Pihlajamäki slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 42nd minute. Ernesti Pihlajamäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesti Pihlajamäki in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leif Tähtinen saved Palojoensuu IFK from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mika Hautamäki to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Palojoensuu IFK got a freekick which was hit by Mika Hautamäki. In the 58thth minute of the game Ernesti Pihlajamäki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palojoensuu IFK's Leif Tähtinen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mikko Reponen scored 6-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leif Tähtinen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Ernesti Pihlajamäki put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Leif Tähtinen. Ernesti Pihlajamäki hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Ernesti Pihlajamäki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Leif Tähtinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Elmo Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Palojoensuu IFK's zone, Elmo Nyman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Tähtinen came out of the goal and Elmo Nyman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leif Tähtinen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesti Pihlajamäki's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. If Elmo Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Ernesti Pihlajamäki notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Palojoensuu IFK's Leif Tähtinen. Leif Tähtinen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 88th minute, Nikodemus Nielikäinen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leif Tähtinen was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. In the 92nd match minute, Palojoensuu IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Normio to maneuver through the defense. Nikodemus Nielikäinen struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Leif Tähtinen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilhola. When the referee ended the match the Vilhola players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
