Spectators: 7692 (Terracing: 5770, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 153) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Paavali Kapanen got the match started through his kick off. Jorma Oksa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paavali Kapanen in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Mika Hautamäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute, Sampo Vapamaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorma Oksa came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Palojoensuu IFK's Mika Hautamäki. But to his dismay, Mika Hautamäki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 12th minute, Mika Hautamäki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palojoensuu IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience was convinced that Paavali Kapanen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorma Oksa was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Paavali Kapanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jorma Oksa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pallo-Kuomat's Jorma Oksa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paavali Kapanen in the 19th minute of play. If Daavid Hedberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jimi Kilponen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Leif Tähtinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Mika Hautamäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorma Oksa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Palojoensuu IFK's goalkeeper Leif Tähtinen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daavid Hedberg. Mika Hautamäki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jorma Oksa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Palojoensuu IFK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jimi Kilponen to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Jimi Kilponen notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Palojoensuu IFK's Leif Tähtinen. Leif Tähtinen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Paavali Kapanen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jorma Oksa. That made the score 2-3 in the 60 minute of play. Jorma Oksa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aaron Karvinen. The supporters of Pallo-Kuomat booed when Palojoensuu IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuutti Kaitainen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th match minute, Palojoensuu IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ukko Kaven to maneuver through the defense. Eero Kananen, 75 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Daavid Hedberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jimi Kilponen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimi Kilponen in the 83rd minute of play forced Palojoensuu IFK's goalkeeper Leif Tähtinen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, Palojoensuu IFK's Paavali Kapanen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-4. Leif Tähtinen came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Pallo-Kuomat's Jimi Kilponen. But to his dismay, Jimi Kilponen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. Paavali Kapanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorma Oksa having to interfere. When Pallo-Kuomat's Jimi Kilponen in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palojoensuu IFK's goalie prevented a goal. Palojoensuu IFK's Leif Tähtinen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimi Kilponen in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
