Unto Haapaniemi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marko Kesä charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marko Kesä the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marko Kesä kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. A hard shot by Anttoni Heinola from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Jesse Höök's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Uoti Kanerva fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC HaNor's protests and gave Uoti Kanerva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, FC HaNor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uoti Kanerva to maneuver through the defense. Marko Kesä was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Pasi Virkkunen struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Aatto Lajunen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altona FC. In the 18th minute, Uoti Kanerva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in FC HaNor's zone, Ismo Rimpilä stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aatto Lajunen came out of the goal and Ismo Rimpilä tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Unto Haapaniemi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sampo Hautaniemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kalle Laine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aatto Lajunen having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Unto Haapaniemi got free with Jesse Höök in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Pasi Virkkunens short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Aatto Lajunen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 61st minute Unto Haapaniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse Höök saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Pasi Virkkunen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pasi Virkkunen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aatto Lajunen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of FC HaNor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Altona FC:s goal. 72 minutes into the game, Ismo Rimpilä lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Aatto Lajunen. Ismo Rimpilä recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Altona FC booed when FC HaNor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uoti Viitaluoma didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Altona FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
