The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jesse Höök took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heino Helenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pasi Virkkunen might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Onni Lehto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pasi Virkkunen ran back to his position shaking his head. Onni Lehto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pasi Virkkunen in the 13th minute of the match. Pasi Virkkunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Onni Lehto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Saukoski FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rainer Andersson to maneuver through the defense. Saukoski FC's Onni Lehto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pasi Virkkunen in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Ismo Rimpilä shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onni Lehto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pasi Virkkunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Onni Lehto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saukoski FC's Onni Lehto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismo Rimpilä in the 26th minute of play. Jesse Höök didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 29th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 37th minute, Rainer Andersson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jesse Höök was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Onni Lehto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismo Rimpilä in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pasi Virkkunen in the 47th minute of play forced Saukoski FC's goalkeeper Onni Lehto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Heino Helenius made a kick off. Jesse Höök made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rainer Andersson in the 55th minute of play. Pasi Virkkunen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onni Lehto having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pasi Virkkunen got free with Onni Lehto in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Saukoski FC's Rainer Andersson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesse Höök narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute Heino Helenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse Höök saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Saukoski FC's Heino Helenius in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Altona FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 84thth minute of the game Heino Helenius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Altona FC's Jesse Höök was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Heino Helenius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jesse Höök having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heino Helenius in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesse Höök saved Altona FC from getting behind. If Heino Helenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Altona FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Saukoski FC.
