Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aarto Pihlman in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reino Virolainen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 14 minutes of play, Blue Mountain State's Aarto Pihlman made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hersteinn Freysson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reino Virolainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aarto Pihlman in the 41st minute of the match. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aki Kotilahti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Aarto Pihlman sped through Tuuri IFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reino Virolainen. The Tuuri IFK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Blue Mountain State were winning 0-3.

After 52 minutes, Risto Hyökyvaara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tuuri IFK and the Blue Mountain State players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tuuri IFK getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Risto Hyökyvaara hit a great ball. In the 55th match minute, Tuuri IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Risto Hyökyvaara to maneuver through the defense. Aarto Pihlman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reino Virolainen having to interfere. The supporters of Tuuri IFK booed when Blue Mountain State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aki Kotilahti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aarto Pihlman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reino Virolainen having to interfere. Reino Virolainen was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Aarto Pihlman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aarto Pihlman really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 70 minutes into the game, Aarto Pihlman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reino Virolainen. Blue Mountain State's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
