Lasse Puistola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Esko Varis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mikko Haapamäki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonne Leino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Puro in the 17th minute of the match. Mikko Haapamäki struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Jonne Leino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ankkurit IFK. In the 32nd minute, Vesa Multaharju hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ossian Vapaniemi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ankkurit IFK getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Oskari Loukonen hit a great ball. Ossian Vapaniemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esko Varis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lasse Puistola in the 42nd minute. Niklas Puro struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jonne Leino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ankkurit IFK. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niklas Puro to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Mikko Haapamäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Lasse Puistola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esko Varis was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Esko Varis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ossian Vapaniemi in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute of the match Ilmo Salminen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Esko Varis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Niklas Puro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Diako AC got a freekick which was hit by Usko Sinkkonen. Diako AC's Ossian Vapaniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonne Leino didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Niklas Puro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonne Leino having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, Mikko Haapamäki made a precise shot to the right of Jonne Leino. Diako AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The Ankkurit IFK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ankkurit IFK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
