If Veli-Matti Kiprusoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pasin Team's Jori Timmonen got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jari Turpeinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Veli-Matti Kiprusoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Sakari Glad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sakari Glad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jori Timmonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Jaakob Kangasniemi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eelis Uusitalo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maunu Salomaa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Kätkä IFK fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Kätkä IFK's Eelis Uusitalo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Maunu Salomaa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 53rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. The supporters of Pasin Team booed when Kätkä IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onni Koivula didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Veli-Matti Kiprusoff couldn't finish the play. Sakari Glad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aimo Ruisniemi in the 87th minute of play. Eelis Uusitalo's late challenge caught a Pasin Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eelis Uusitalo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kätkä IFK's Eelis Uusitalo got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Aimo Ruisniemi struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Sakari Glad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pasin Team. The Pasin Team manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Kätkä IFK to win.
