Lama FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imatran palloseura the free kick. In the 3rd match minute, Lama FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmer Pasanen to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute, Esa Alanko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vilppu Litmanen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julius Huttunen in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, Lama FC's Vilppu Litmanen got control of the ball when Patrik Puutio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eetu Haapaniemi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julius Huttunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Vilppu Litmanen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Eetu Haapaniemi came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Imatran palloseura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eetu Haapaniemi couldn't finish the play. Vilppu Litmanen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eetu Haapaniemi in the 33rd minute of the match. When Patrik Puutio came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Imatran palloseura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrik Puutio couldn't finish the play. After having played for 42 minutes, Julius Huttunen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imatran palloseura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julius Huttunen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute Eetu Haapaniemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilppu Litmanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrik Puutio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilppu Litmanen having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Julius Huttunen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markku Hernesniemi hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 54 minutes into the match, Lama FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eetu Haapaniemi came free, but Vilppu Litmanen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Imatran palloseura's Eetu Haapaniemi got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Imatran palloseura getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Patrik Puutio hit a great ball. Jonni Heinola was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Heino Anttila managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lama FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Heino Anttila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tero Kallio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Lama FC booed when Imatran palloseura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manu Mustonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Tero Kallio managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Lama FC's Heino Anttila fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lama FC's Jonni Heinola got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Julius Huttunen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vilppu Litmanen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Toni Veikkanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Vilppu Litmanen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Imatran palloseura's Patrik Puutio got his second yellow card of the match in the 78th minute. The referee ordered Patrik Puutio off the ground. A collision led to Imatran palloseura getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Patrik Puutio hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Julius Huttunen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilppu Litmanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julius Huttunen scored 2-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vilppu Litmanen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Toni Veikkanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Imatran palloseura fully deserved thier win.
