Erkki Hanninen didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Ribale's Aarne Villanen got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elias Vikström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valtteri Tallqvist having to interfere. In the 16th minute of the match, Aarne Villanen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valtteri Tallqvist saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 18 minutes into the match, FC Ribale's Aarne Villanen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valtteri Tallqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juha-Pekka Multaharju made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ossi Kaarniemi in the 20th minute of play. Niilo Kopelmo scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juha-Pekka Multaharju, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Teuvo Norrena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Höjdbackens IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Aatos Masalin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Vikström in the 35th minute of play forced Höjdbackens IF's goalkeeper Valtteri Tallqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Untamo Turunen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Höjdbackens IF's Valtteri Tallqvist got control of the ball when Aarne Villanen tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Aarne Villanen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ribale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aarne Villanen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Aatos Masalin fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ribale's protests and gave Aatos Masalin a yellow card for diving instead. Aatos Masalin kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Aarne Villanen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valtteri Tallqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niilo Kopelmo to strike the kick off in the second half. Valtteri Tallqvist came out of the goal and Aarne Villanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, FC Ribale's Elias Vikström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valtteri Tallqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Höjdbackens IF getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Manu Reimari hit a great ball.
