When Untamo Lehtinen came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the FC FINLAND fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Untamo Lehtinen couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute, Raine Konttila left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 300 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Kaleva Airisto's late challenge caught a FC FINLAND's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Riku Ilola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Taavetti Saarela in the 19th minute. 300's Ahti Andersson got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Auno Somervuori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommi Alanen in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, FC FINLAND's Taavi Rämö nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Auno Somervuori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Taavi Rämö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Auno Somervuori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taavi Rämö in the 36th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Riku Ilola successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Riku Ilola made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Taavetti Saarela sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Untamo Lehtinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Auno Somervuori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Auno Somervuori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taavi Rämö in the 40th minute of play. Untamo Lehtinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Auno Somervuori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juho Pakaslahti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Tommi Alanen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC FINLAND's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommi Alanen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahti Andersson made a kick off. With his leg Auno Somervuori managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when FC FINLAND's Tommi Alanen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 55 minutes, Taavi Rämö managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC FINLAND's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taavi Rämö was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Tommi Alanen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 68th minute, Tommi Alanen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Taavi Rämö recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Auno Somervuori. Taavi Rämö showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Juho Pakaslahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, 300's Auno Somervuori got control of the ball when Untamo Lehtinen tried to sneak it across the goal line.
