Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ohto Kiviharju made the kick off and thus started the match. Taavi Rämö was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 3rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Riku Ilola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ohto Kiviharju in the 6th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ilmo Masalin managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC FINLAND's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilmo Masalin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kalervo Salermo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC FINLAND's Ilmo Masalin got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valio Koivuranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Taavi Rämö received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kalervo Salermo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC FINLAND's Riku Ilola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ohto Kiviharju in the 16th minute of play. Riku Ilola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ohto Kiviharju, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommi Alanen got free with Kalervo Salermo in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Taavi Rämö received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kalervo Salermo came out and tried to block the shot, but Taavi Rämö slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. A collision led to FC FINLAND getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Valio Koivuranta hit a great ball. In the 24th minute Albert Hujanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Riku Ilola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kalervo Salermo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilmo Masalin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hassis FC's Ylermi Sjögren got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 28 minutes, Ilmo Masalin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC FINLAND and the Hassis FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC FINLAND getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ilmo Masalin hit a great ball. Ilmo Masalin got his second yellow card in the match during the 30th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Hassis FC booed when FC FINLAND was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilmo Masalin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Riku Ilola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ohto Kiviharju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valio Koivuranta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute, Ylermi Sjögren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Riku Ilola was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Kalervo Salermo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niko Tuuri in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Hassis FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valio Koivuranta came free, but Kalervo Salermo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Taavi Rämö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valio Koivuranta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tommi Alanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Kalervo Salermo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valio Koivuranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valio Koivuranta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalervo Salermo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommi Alanen in the 59th minute of play forced Hassis FC's goalkeeper Kalervo Salermo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommi Alanen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, Anton Litja left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hassis FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. A collision led to FC FINLAND getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Niko Tuuri hit a great ball. Kalervo Salermo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommi Alanen in the 73rd minute of play. Hassis FC's Mika Petriläinen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Riku Ilola but with some difficulty. A collision led to Hassis FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mika Petriläinen hit a great ball. Kalervo Salermo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uljas Hannus, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Kalervo Salermo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Taavi Rämö went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 87 minutes into the match, FC FINLAND's goalkeeper Riku Ilola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albert Hujanen. In the 88th match minute, FC FINLAND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taavi Rämö to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, one of FC FINLAND:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Eerikki Helavuori walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a defensive mix-up in Hassis FC's zone, Valio Koivuranta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kalervo Salermo came out of the goal and Valio Koivuranta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valio Koivuranta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Kalervo Salermo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC FINLAND players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
