Karis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kalevi Saarinen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kalevi Saarinen in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joni Rinne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 16 minutes into the match, Kalevi Saarinen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joni Rinne. Karis's Joni Rinne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pauli Penttilä in the 24th minute of play. Pauli Penttilä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joni Rinne having to interfere. The supporters of KESKUSTAN HK booed when Karis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrik Hauhtonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kalevi Saarinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, KESKUSTAN HK's goal looked a bit too open when Saku Sulonen came free, but Hannu Ikola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pauli Penttilä recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saku Sulonen struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Hannu Ikola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karis. In the 42nd minute Pauli Penttilä shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joni Rinne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the KESKUSTAN HK defense, Henrik Hauhtonen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hannu Ikola. The KESKUSTAN HK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hannu Ikola should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saku Sulonen to make the kick off. Albert Siivonen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joni Rinne. Karis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 57 played minutes Karis got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Hauhtonen. Henrik Hauhtonen's late challenge caught a KESKUSTAN HK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrik Hauhtonen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Karis's Henrik Hauhtonen got a free kick in the 61st minute. Saku Sulonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannu Ikola having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalevi Saarinen in the 70th minute of play forced Karis's goalkeeper Joni Rinne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arvo Hänninen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannu Ikola having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Saku Sulonen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hannu Ikola was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Pauli Penttilä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joni Rinne having to interfere. If Kalevi Saarinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrik Hauhtonen hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Joni Rinne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kalevi Saarinen in the 90th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Pauli Penttilä left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KESKUSTAN HK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KESKUSTAN HK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
