The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of JRiikolan Tiimi booed when KESKUSTAN HK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yrjänä Väänänen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, JRiikolan Tiimi's Miro Willman tried to score from far away in the 8th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Hannu Ikola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aimo Hassinen's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Hannu Ikola made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Aimo Hassinen sent off a good shot on target. Hannu Ikola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juuso Karalahti, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Aimo Hassinen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in KESKUSTAN HK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! KESKUSTAN HK:s Hannu Ikola showed great skill when he stopped Miro Willman:s penalty. A hard shot by Pyry Reinikainen from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Hannu Ikola's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A hard shot 35 in the game by Aimo Hassinen from a close distance when the talented Hannu Ikola managed to make a qualified save. KESKUSTAN HK's players were relieved. Juuso Karalahti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannu Ikola having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Juuso Karalahti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kalevi Saarinen to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Juuso Karalahti managed to get in a good position for a shot. JRiikolan Tiimi's supporters rose to their feet, but Juuso Karalahti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hannu Ikola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aimo Hassinen in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hannu Ikola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. JRiikolan Tiimi's Aimo Hassinen got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalevi Saarinen in the 65th minute of play forced JRiikolan Tiimi's goalkeeper Mika Takavirta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aimo Hassinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Aimo Hassinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mika Takavirta made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Pauli Penttilä sent off a good shot on target. Hannu Ikola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juuso Karalahti went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Henrikki Manninen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Mika Takavirta made a huge save. 82 minutes into the game, Juuso Karalahti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hannu Ikola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Juuso Karalahti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Hannu Ikola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. JRiikolan Tiimi's Aimo Hassinen got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juuso Karalahti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the JRiikolan Tiimi players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
