Sulevi Viander came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Royal Steers's Keijo Hati. But to his dismay, Keijo Hati quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Keijo Hati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Kohmujärvi IFK getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Pyry Välivaara hit a great ball. Mika Pakarinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Royal Steers's Miikka Pulkkinen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Haapaniemi in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Paul Haapaniemi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Miikka Pulkkinen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paul Haapaniemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Miikka Pulkkinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uolevi Tuores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sulevi Viander having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Yrjänä Söderström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sulevi Viander was a little too slow when Uolevi Tuores got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-1. 46 minutes into the match, Kohmujärvi IFK's Mika Pakarinen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miikka Pulkkinen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Kohmujärvi IFK booed when FC Royal Steers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hannu Hanninen didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Uolevi Tuores to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, FC Royal Steers's Ukko Aalto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Uolevi Tuores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Royal Steers's Miikka Pulkkinen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Haapaniemi in the 58th minute of play. After 68 minutes, Yrjänä Söderström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kohmujärvi IFK and the FC Royal Steers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yrjänä Söderström hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Keijo Hati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Hannu Hanninen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Keijo Hati came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the FC Royal Steers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keijo Hati couldn't finish the play. If Keijo Hati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC Royal Steers's Miikka Pulkkinen got control of the ball when Mika Pakarinen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Uolevi Tuores recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Royal Steers's Keijo Hati got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, FC Royal Steers's Uolevi Tuores sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sulevi Viander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Mika Pakarinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paul Haapaniemi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miikka Pulkkinen having to interfere. FC Royal Steers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
