Spectators: 7724 (Terracing: 5794, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jouko Paatelainen started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Markus Takavirta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomi Pulkkinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Lindström having to interfere. Tomi Pulkkinen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorma Roiha during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorma Roiha hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Samuel Lindström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomi Pulkkinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Anssi Palo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jouko Paatelainen in the 14th minute of play. Jorma Roiha was shown his second yellow card after 15 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 16 played minutes MYPA got a freekick which was hit by Jorma Roiha. Elmeri Roiha charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elmeri Roiha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mälsälä booed when MYPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elmeri Roiha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anssi Palo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salomo Lampi's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Anssi Palo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jouko Paatelainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anssi Palo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salomo Lampi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Elmeri Roiha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the match, Mälsälä's goalkeeper Samuel Lindström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Janne Parkkonen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salomo Lampi in the 33rd minute of play forced MYPA's goalkeeper Anssi Palo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mälsälä's Samuel Lindström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mälsälä from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute, Janne Parkkonen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Janne Parkkonen to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in MYPA's zone, Jouko Paatelainen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anssi Palo came out of the goal and Jouko Paatelainen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the MYPA defense, Salomo Lampi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anssi Palo. The MYPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anssi Palo should have stopped the shot. When Jouko Paatelainen came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mälsälä fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jouko Paatelainen couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salomo Lampi got free with Anssi Palo in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Janne Parkkonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Roope Lehterä hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomi Pulkkinen hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Roope Lehterä dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anssi Palo, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jouko Paatelainen in the 93rd minute of play forced MYPA's goalkeeper Anssi Palo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mälsälä walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
