A wasted opportunity for Hepola IFK. 23 minutes into the match, Hepola IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sulho Hautaniemi came free, but Timo Ahonen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saku Sairanen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rafael Haapaniemi made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Metalupuass's Vesa Vähä got a free kick in the 27th minute. Rafael Haapaniemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Asko Seikola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hepola IFK's Timo Ahonen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerkko Paavola in the 33rd minute of play. Timo Ahonen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerkko Paavola in the 39th minute of play. Timo Ahonen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sulho Hautaniemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Hepola IFK booed when Metalupuass was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raine Kirjonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Hepola IFK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Metalupuass were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
