Samuli Tarvainen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Risto Suutarinen. 0-1. Anton Kinnunen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Risto Suutarinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Risto Suutarinen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toimi Hietaharju went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Iikka Laitila in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Heikki Junkka, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the FC Nator defense, Toimi Hietaharju kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Risto Suutarinen. The FC Nator fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Risto Suutarinen should have stopped the shot. Iikka Laitila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Nator players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Raumo were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hannu Kukkamäki to make the kick off. Risto Suutarinen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toimi Hietaharju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th match minute, FC Nator was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavi Hagman to maneuver through the defense. Arho Helminen charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arho Helminen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, Arho Helminen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heikki Junkka came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Nator's Iikka Laitila. But to his dismay, Iikka Laitila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. FC Raumo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
